RYAN'S TRIP
Saturday:  Day begins with coffee and breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and fruits.  Group was onboard from previous evening and finished their loading and equipment preparation.  Headed out of Key Largo marina to Molasses reef for a 2 refresher dives.  I was impressed with the visibility on molasses and huge amount of fish life.  Lunch of sandwiches, chips and liquid.  Supper of Grilled Maui Maui, potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and breads Followed by desert of lemon meringue pie.  Bedtime for the Captain while some hardy divers continued to enjoy refreshments.
Sunday: Up at 6 for the Captain, joined soon by Todd and Dion.  Pancakes and sausages with fresh fruits and juices.   Off to the Duane for a shipwreck dive.  The Duane was a spectacular dive, huge amounts of marine life, light currents and close to Molasses. Group decided 2 dives enough for today, so in to shore for Supper and refreshments.
Monday Fresh coffee from Baby's of Key West followed by pancakes, eggs, sausages and fresh fruits.  Off to the Spiegel Grove.  Found the hookup on the middle tower.  Dive 1 was an impressive wreck,  Very high center tower with a lot of relief.  Huge wreck, would take several dives to see it all.  Marine life somewhat less than the Duane, however still plentiful.  Great dive that can be done as recreational or technical.  We hit the wreck at around 50' and had a max of 109' on our dive.  Lunch of sandwiches, chips, fruit and refreshments.  Group decided to do 2nd dive on the Spiegel Grove.  Stopped at Molasses on way in for a 3rd dive.  Supper of grilled shrimp, green beans, coleslaw, breads  and refreshments.  Finished the pie tonight.   Everyone ate to their fill and Captain headed off to sack.

Tuesday:  The winds picked up, so we decided to travel to Marathon Key.  Fresh coffee and breakfast of bacon, sausages, eggs, pancakes, hash browns and fresh fruits.  Off we go in 20-25 mph winds, kind of bumpy, so we stayed inside reef and made fairly slow time.  Stopped at the "Eagle" on the way.  She is a shipwreck broke into 2 sections.  Fun to dive, but a pretty good current between the sections.  Lots of marine life,  Well worth the stop.  Was just too rough for a lunch, so we snacked our way to Marathon.  Stopped at Sombrerro reef on way in, but windy weather completely destroyed visibility and the currents were very strong.  Todd and Ron scrapped the dive and we got into Marathon marina just after dark.  Dock felt good after a rough day.  Supper of Grilled chicken, stuffed green peppers, coleslaw and desert.  Goodnight .
Wednesday:  Fresh Baby's coffee and same breakfast as Monday.  Still blowin, so group decides to Boogey on to Key West as the winds are to slow down later in the day.  Group scratched Loo Key and Busch wreck, too bad, but the weather was a factor.  Winds started to drop as we neared Key West,  we headed for Joe's Tug for a look see and hunt.  Joe's tug has a fair amount of fish life, but it's been broken up fairly well.  Lots of debree.  Harvested a couple of hogfish and small barracuda for Supper.  Introduced Todd to spear fishing, I don't think he will ever be the same again.  On to 9 mile reef for some picture taking and nice reef diving.  The visibility was lower than Key Largo,  around 30-40', however the marine life was very plentiful.  Slid into stock island marina just at dark for a supper of fresh fish, broccoli, coleslaw and breadsticks.  We had plenty of fish and everyone ate to their fill.  Dion said he thought the barracuda was delicious.  I agree, catch em small and grill with lemon, butter and Lowry's.  Big ole marina filled with wrecks, group went night diving and had a ball.  Much refreshments tonight, Captain went to bed. .
Thursday:  Winds are calm for rest of week.  Captain up at 6, joined by Todd and Dion for fresh coffee, followed by breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon fruits and juices.  Group decided that they liked fresh fish and wanted to go back to Joe's tug and a protected reef just outside.  Joe's tug was a producer of Supper again and Todd now know spear fishing.  We had a nice stringer of barracuda, hog fish and snapper when I looked behind me to realize I was being stalked by a 8' moray eel.  tried to get Todd's attention, couldn't, also couldn't get fish stringer free from weight belt, so had to fend off moray with Todd's camera.  Whew,  moray followed us all the way to up line, but Ron and Kyle got his attention with their camera (see photo).  Another dive on Joe's tug and we had plenty of fish for Supper.  Lunch of sandwiches, chips, fresh veggies and liquids.
